I’m only an ordinary European man, working in international cultural exchange and trying to make an effort in helping people to have a better understanding for each others culture, religion and customs. So I have no doubt that many readers will condemn this article as „a bunch of bull” and/or „Lieschen Muellers explanation of the world”. I write it anyway, because - for crying out loud - didn’t the world learn a thing from the slaughter in the 19th and 20th century when millions of civilians died in countless wars around the world because they had the wrong beliefs, the wrong race and/or the wrong political stand point? Not to speak of the millions of soldiers world wide and on all sides who were ordered to sacrifice their young lives for the „highest honor”.
Today most of those states which in the past killed the „enemy bastard”, „the beast”, the „monster” or the „terrorists” next door, are now partners, neighbors or even good friends and many of them think, that it is beyond comprehension that these devastating wars were able to develop among thoughtful people and nations.
Never the less, here we go again, this time (among others) in Afghanistan. Out of all the peoples in the world, those who damned sure should - out of painful personal experience - know better, bring war to this country and „produce” by allegedly „fighting the war on terror” more terrorism every single day that God, Allah or Jahwe bring! What, Lord Mercy, are we all doing? Is it so weird, unrealistic and dumb to propose a meeting of ALL parties involved in order to find a peaceful solution now and before thousand of more innocent people die? We are creating „round tables” around the world for all sorts of unimportant nonsense, but when it comes to save the lives of children, women, men and soldiers we seem to be incapable to use our brains and keep instead fighting for the ‘honor’ and the supposedly safety of the world!
On 9/11 we may have had a few hundred sick people around the world, who wanted to kill and destroy, instead of discussing and solving the problems they wanted to point out. Now we probably have a few thousands, among them young mothers who lost their babies and parents who lost their daughters and sons! Since they lost the meanings of their lives they don’t mind blowing up themselves to inflict the same pain on others they suffered themselves without any reason. How can we be surprised? If this is all about politics and money it won’t have a good ending for our world. I wish we would pay more attention to God and our hearts and I would be asked to mediate among the parties to bring some common sense into the discussion.
